As you are no doubt aware, there are new privacy regulations, known as GDPR, coming into force on the 25th May 2018. As a processor of your data, we have taken steps to ensure compliance with the new regulations. Our systems are secure by design and we use the world class Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting platform to store and process your data for you.
What we've done recently to help you & us maintain compliance;
There is a new 'Compliance Centre' in the Directli interface
Here you can review our updated Privacy Notice and agree and download our Data Processing Agreement. If you require a copy of the Data Processing Agreement for your internal audit purposes, you can sign this on behalf of your organisation and download a copy for your records. Any specific documents sent to us will not be actioned and you'll be asked to download our agreement from your Compliance Centre.
Your customers now have more choice
You can ask our system to email new customers, asking them to sign new mandates. Occasionally your customers will reach out to us and ask us to stop emailing these emails. So, at the bottom of the emails sent to your customers, we now have a link to our Privacy Notice (between us & your customer) and also some opt-out controls for them. If they opt-out of receiving emails from us, we will no longer send emails to them asking them to sign a mandate for you.
If a customer opts out
If a customer opts-out of receiving emails, we won't automatically send any to them. And if you try and send them a link from the Customers page, you'll see a message that they've chosen to opt out.
If you still wish for your customer to sign a mandate, you will need to send them their unique signup link using other means and in accordance with your own privacy policies.
Customer Emails get a facelift
To help you convert more customers on to direct debit, we now include your logo in the mandate invitation emails. Your logo comes from the one you upload in your GoCardlss dashboard. If you haven't uploaded one already, you can read how to here. It'll also show up on your payment pages too!
